Background
The two associate owners purchased the Lalande Winery in 1996.
At the time the vineyard comprised 125 hectares. They then purchased the neighboring vineyards and the winery now totals 215 hectares.
The Canal du Midi created by Pierre Paul Riquet in the 17th century runs alongside the winery. A sluice located on the winery's property is called Lalande Sluice.

The vineyard was created at the same time as the canal and the architects
of the canal were housed in the Chateau. At the time the property stretched over 2,000 hectares, but it was split up after the Revolution.
